COACH & VOLUNTEER APPLICATION FORM

This application starts the process for your 2 Year Background Check and your SafeSport Training. You will need to complete the SafeSport Online training which will be sent to you. The system will do periodic checks throughout the 2 year period. 

This Application is for all WAA Sports:

  • Baseball
  • Basketball
  • Cheer
  • Flag Football
  • Girls Softball
  • Recreational Soccer
  • Volleyball

In this session, you will be asked information which will be used to conduct a background screening by the National Center for Safety Initiatives, LLC (NCSI).
Please read through each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately.

This registration requires a person to enter an accurate US Address.

If you have completed this form previously, please review the information you have already entered and make updates or changes.

This form is all new as of July 1, 2024.

The system knows if you are due for an updated background check or training and will automatically move forward with what is needed.

This registration session will allow volunteers to:

  • Complete your basic contact information
  • Select all sport you intend to be a coach or volunteer
  • Provide background on yourself to WAA to review
  • Continue to your SafeSport Abuse Prevention Program & Background Check

For all of our WAA Members, we appreciate the time and effort that you give to our athletes and to Waxhaw Athletic Association. You are all the backbone of our organization.

  • All WAA Coaches, Managers, Board Members, and Volunteers who work directly with our athletes, are required to have a Background Check every year, plus ongoing periodic checks as well as complete the mandatory SafeSport Abuse Prevention Program training.
  • If you are a Full Time Soccer Coach for Waxhaw Soccer Club Academy or Classic under Jeff Mercado, please complete this form. You will still need to complete your NCYSA Background Check & your may need to complete their SafeSport Training. 
  • If you are registering for multiple sports, your background check will cover all of those sports. The included sports are: Baseball, Basketball, Cheer, Flag Football, Girls Softball, Recreational Soccer, Volleyball, and any volunteer Board Members.
  • WAA Risk Management will maintain all records through SportsEngine. 

We thank our dedicated Volunteers for always looking for new ways to better the experience for our athletes and we welcome our newest coaches & volunteers to the team.
